Attorney Jessica L. Berrien is a graduate of Tufts University and Suffolk University Law School where she graduated magna cum laude in 1999. She was a member and note editor of the Suffolk Transnational Law Review and author of "Intercountry Adoption Laws," Suffolk Transnational Law Review No. 20 P. 283 (1998). She was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 1999.

Attorney Berrien worked as a law clerk to the Justices of the Massachusetts Superior Court upon graduating from law school. She has since worked for a Boston firm in the litigation group and another Boston area firm in family law, representing clients in divorce, paternity and modification cases. From 2004 to 2006 she worked for an Amherst, Massachusetts firm primarily in family law, civil litigation and real estate cases.

In 2006 Attorney Berrien founded her own law practice in Northampton, Massachusetts. She represents clients in civil litigation matters including family law, practicing primarily in the western Massachusetts divisions of the Massachusetts Probate and Family Court. She appears regularly in the Hampshire, Franklin and Hampden County Probate and Family Courts on motions for temporary orders, motions for support and custody and on contempt hearings.

Attorney Berrien is a member of the Hampshire County, Franklin County and Massachusetts Bar Associations. She has been an advocate for the American Cancer Society and a recipient of the Massachusetts American Cancer Society Community Leadership Award for Advocacy. She has been a panel attorney for Safe Passage, a domestic violence advocacy and support group in Northampton and she is a co-founder of the Cambridge Center for Adult Education Barbara Singer Artist Award.
